Our TEFL course in Chiang Mai was truly an amazing experience. Over the four weeks, we completed full-time training alongside six hands-on teaching sessions at local schools, which gave us real insight into what it’s like to be in a classroom. The instructors brought a wealth of experience and offered practical, helpful guidance throughout the program.
We even got to experience being students ourselves, learning Thai through the TEFL methods we were taught, which really helped us understand effective teaching techniques. The course also covered creating detailed lesson plans, and we received constructive feedback from multiple instructors after each practice lesson.
The support from the staff was outstanding, not only during the course but also afterwards, helping with job placement and answering any questions we had. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to teach English, especially in Thailand.
I had a very good experience with the ITA course in Chiang Mai. The program was well-structured, balancing theory with hands-on teaching practice in local schools, which really helped me build confidence in the classroom. The instructors were knowledgeable and approachable, giving detailed feedback on our lesson plans and teaching methods.
Beyond the lessons, the staff helped with job guidance and provided knowledge on living and working in Thailand. I'm now teaching in Thailand and loving the experience.
Taking this course turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. It was incredibly well organised and covered everything in a clear, step-by-step way. Even though it ran for 11 weeks, it felt like it went by in no time because I was genuinely engaged with the content throughout.
The structure really helped me stay on track, especially with the regular quizzes reinforcing what I’d learned each week. The instructor was fantastic—her feedback was clear, practical, and focused not just on what to improve, but also on common pitfalls to watch out for. That made a big difference in helping me understand how to approach assignments more effectively.
It’s definitely a course that requires commitment, particularly with the amount of written work involved, but if you’re motivated and serious about teaching, it’s incredibly rewarding. I’m finishing the course feeling prepared and excited about the opportunity to teach abroad.
